Dispatches from the Multiverse Vol. 7
Two New Big Updates!
Grindstone has two new big updates: The Lost Lair & Döttie’s House!
The Lost Lair
The Lost Lair is a full new area, complete with 19 levels and a final boss fight against Jjary. Contend with all new dangerous obstacles, like minecarts and stalactites, in order to fight your way up to Jorj’s final showdown with Jjary. You won’t have to go it alone, as the Lost Lair introduces a new piece of gear, the Rainbow Sword.
But that’s not all that’s lurking in the Lost Lair. Be prepared for a brand new enemy, the Scävengr. Rumours of its existence have long been whispered near Grindstone Mountain, but nobody has ever been brave enough to stand toe-to-toe with one. Until now, of course.
Döttie’s House
HjellHjole also has a new building available to visit, and this time, it’s Jorj’s family home! Jorj’s family, Döttie and Harry, appear for the first time in Grindstone, and they’re not coming empty handed. Complete weekly community challenges and as a reward, receive an exclusive cosmetic hat!
The Story of the Scävengr
It shouldn’t be any surprise that Lagr, the owner of the Howling Wolf Inn, knows all the secrets and stories there is to know about Grindstone Mountain. She sent me this one, a little spooky tidbit about the Lost Lair’s most recently encountered enemy, Scävengr.
The thing with old wives tales is, there’s always some truth to them, isn’t there? So when reports of a jerk eating grindstones started making their way to my bar, I wasn’t shocked. Not in the slightest. Jerks will eat anything, so why not grindstones?
So anyways, jerks are eating grindstones, who cares, right? Well, and even Ødger will tell you, we don’t really understand how grindstones work. So doubly not surprising is that eating grindstones would cause these jerks to mutate into half jerks, half … grindstones, I guess.
But here’s the weird thing. The actual weird thing about Scävengrs isn’t that they mutated … it’s that we don’t know what type of jerk they mutated from. And us down in the Grindstone Mountain’s shadow, well, we know every type of jerk, creep, and slob there is to know. But not which jerk the Scävengr originated as. And that’s got people asking the question: is it a mutated jerk? Or is it an evolution of all the stonegrinders lost to the Mountain during the grindstone rush era of HjellHjole? One regular of mine here, who wishes to remain anonymous, said that once he saw a Scävengr staring at him, and he swears up and down he recognized the eyes, eyes of a former lover who went missing when he wanted to become a famed stonegrinder.
I mean, that’s probably all bogus, right? But what if …
