Welcome to the Daily Grind, Grindstone’s Daily Competitive Modes
GRINDSTONE is a puzzle-battler splatter fest, and now offers a new way to test your mettle in a daily competitive mode! Test your skill in any of three available Daily Grind modes — Greed Grind, Quick Grind, and Fortune Grind — and see whether you’re a true master of CAPY’s take on the color-matching genre.
Greed Grind
Greed Grind is a 4-level gauntlet of escalating difficulty. Start this odyssey by selecting one of three suits. Choose wisely, because there’s no turning back once you start!
As you complete each level, you’ll be able to select another piece of gear. Choose wisely, since each level is more difficult and precarious than the last, and sometimes your choice of gear will be the only thing standing between you and that top leaderboard ranking.
Can you make it to the end of this grueling gauntlet with the most points?
Quick Grind
Unlike Greed Grind, Quick Grind is only a single level — but that doesn’t mean it’s easy!
You start with a pre-determined set of gear, including your suit, so you won’t know what strategy to bring with you until you start!
Quick Grind isn’t about escaping through the door, but rather making the most of only 10 turns to try and get the highest score possible.
Every turn matters in Quick Grind, so be strategic and be ruthless.
Fortune Grind
Fortune Grind is a mode unlike either Greed or Quick! Fortune Grind is a single-level challenge, but there’s a catch (there’s always a catch). Blocking the door is a giant wheel! The wheel is full of both goodies and nasties, and what you get (and how many you get!) is determined by the length of chain you spin the wheel with. After 8 spins, the wheel is ready to be smashed, freeing the exit.
Go big to try and get the most grindstones, but watch out, you may just end up with more jerks than you’ve bargained for.
Meet Jjertrude
Meet Jjertrude, the esteemed patron of the Daily Grind Shrjine, who begrudgingly believes in you, whether she wants to or not. Jjertrude is a retired stonegrinder, once thought to be the best of the best. Because of this, she has been chosen to spend her retirement watching over the sacred Daily Grind Shrjine, where intrepid stonegrinders can make sacrifices in the name of the Old Gods.
The Old Gods want sacrifices, so stonegrinders can’t keep the resource they accumulate during their daily runs. But nobody can say Jjertrude isn’t at least fair, so to make up for it, Jjertrude has constructed the Ancient Board of Leaders, where she ranks the names of every stonegrinder who completes a sacrificial run.
Piety isn’t fun without a little competition, after all.
Scoring Tips
Since Jjertrude and the Daily Grind plays by its own rules, here are some tips for trying to
- Grindstones are worth the most, so go big when you can.
- Hearts are worth points, so try to conserve them — or sacrifice them when the reward is worth it.
- The longer you stick around, the angrier Creeps, so don’t hang around for too long.
- You can repeat your runs, so don’t be afraid to experiment with gear and strategies to try and climb the leaderboard.
- Every Creep and Jerk kill adds up, so make every turn worth it.
Are you a brave enough Stonegrinder to survive the daily grind (and Jjertrude’s judgment)? Good luck out there — you may need it.
